Name: nina
History: Nina, who has lived in our shelter for the past 3 years, after her owners went to live in another country and left Nina behind, now has a sponsor. Nina has settled down very nicely and is now quite tolerant of the other cats who share the shelter.
Sponsorship status: Sponsored by Mrs Georgia Michailidis from Germany.

Name: kitt 011
History: Kitt has lived in our shelter since 2006. We took him in after his owner left the island and could not take Kitt with him. Kitt is a very sweet and gentle cat but his timid nature has not helped him in finding a new home. Being a very shy cat he tends to spend most of his time sitting inside a cupboard - his oen favourite 'shelter'.
Sponsorship status: Sponsored by Matthias from Germany.

Name: felix
History: Felix was only 7 months old when he was picked up from a public garden after a feeder noticed he was having problems eating his food. Felix needed veteronary treatment and need most of his teeth removed. He is now living at our shelter where we continue to keep a close watch on him.
Sponsorship status: Sponsored by Nadine Fluckiger from Switzerland.

Name: Griga
History: Griga has lived at our little shelter ever since she was six months old, and is one of our first residents. She is one of our permanent residents and lives a comfortable life in the only home she has ever known.
Sponsorship status: Sponsored in loving memory of the late Joan Kathleen Saunders (1927 - 2009) of Southwark, London, U.K., by her family and friends. Message to Griga by the Saunders family: We have chosen you, Griga, because you remind us, so much, of Joan's beloved cat Tuppence, who also had a similar bad dog experience.

Name: Riviera 00
History: Riviera was rescued after her eyes got badly infected. In spite of treatment and medication she unfortunately lost use of one of her eyes and needed surgical intervention. Having been forced to live outdoors most of her life, Riviera does not trust people. She is now living at our ward where she enjoys companionship of her feline friends, and receives love and care from our kind helpers.
Sponsorship status: Sponsored with great affection by Charles Pelham Lee from UK.

Name: Alfie
History: Alfie is a very elderly cat who lost his home after his dear human companion passed away. No member of this family accepted responsibility of Alfie. Alfie is now being cared for at our ward. He enjoys companionship of the other cats and receives love and attention from us.
Sponsorship status: Sponsored lovingly by Birgit and Hardy Zielauf from Germany.

Name: Saul
History: Saul was found with a broken leg but as he has remained handicapped it was not possible to release him back into his colony as he is an easy target. He is now living safely at our shelter.
Sponsorship status: Sponsored for 2009 by a caring friend from Switzerland.
